The bar mitzvah and the bat mitzvah are both important coming of age milestones and joyous occasions that are celebrated together with friends and family. To help make your next bar/bat mitzvah extra special, Entertainment Unlimited has asked their DJs for advice on how to throw the best bar/bat mitzvah event.

High- Energy & Engagement is a MustBar Mitzvah Pittsburgh

To keep the celebration going, entertainment is the key! Keep the kids and the adults dancing all night with a high energy DJ!

When it comes to entertainment, DJ Jet (Jesse) said it is essential to find someone who is high-energy and who is not afraid to interact with the kids and other guests and keep the crowd active.

DJ Sosa had similar advice, saying that it is crucial to have a DJ who is continually interacting and engaging with the crowd throughout the event. “I do most of the mitzvahs in the community. A lot of the times at these mitzvahs, they are all familiar faces, so that’s a good thing,” Sosa said.

Games, Quality Equipment, and More for a Fun-Filled Event!

A Mitzvah should be a joyous and fun occasion for guests of all ages. Because this event will feature guests of all ages, Jesse said it is essential to find a DJ who had a variety of age-appropriate games that all of the kids can enjoy. He said it is also crucial to find someone who has games that boys and girls can enjoy so everybody can have a good time.

Sosa said to keep the party going, great up-tempo music, like Bruno Mars, and stunning visuals delivered with pro audio and high-quality equipment are vital to keeping children and adults alike engaged and having fun. To ensure you receive the quality sound and visuals for your event, Sosa said it is also important to seek out a DJ that has a state-of-the-art, one-of-a-kind equipment set up such as uplighting, move lighting and video game walls.

Book Your DJ Early for Your Mitzvah

The early bird gets the worm when it comes to booking entertainment for your mitzvah in Pittsburgh or the surrounding areas.

Jesse recommends that your book your DJ at least 6-12 months before the event. “This gives you time to speak with the DJ about what the client is looking for and what the child is looking for,” Jesses said. He said this extra time to prepare puts the DJ in a position where they are more comfortable and can better deliver the experience you are looking for.

Sosa recommends that your book your DJ a year and a half to two years in advance because many of the prime dates for mitzvahs will get booked quickly. “It seems like every year there’s at least 6 or 7 events that get double booked,” Sosa said.
