Guideline For Booking Your Event Entertainment

Booking Your Event!

Booking the right entertainment to make your event a success is crucial, and knowing how far in advance to book it is an important step. Booking as early as possible is always the best choice to ensure that your choices are available when needed. Waiting until the last minute can not only create unnecessary stress, but leave you with a less chance of your preferred choice in terms of entertainment.

The question is: When exactly should you book the entertainment for your event? While there is no clear-cut answer, there are some general guidelines that can help you get an idea of a preferred timeline.

  • Birthday Parties: Depending on the time of year, 6 to 8 weeks is the minimum recommended time. However, if the party coincides with a major holiday or seasonal event, such as graduations, it is preferable to book even earlier, as you will be dealing with other events scheduled during that time that may utilize your first choices of entertainment.
  • Holiday Parties: These days many holiday parties, particularly corporate ones, are booked a year in advance. While it may seem early to book this holiday for next year’s party, it ensures that your options will be less limited. Booking your holiday entertainment as late as the fall for the upcoming season limits your options considerably.
  • Seasonal Events: This can refer to graduation parties, summer picnics, fall festivals, etc. Three to four months in advance gives you the best window that will ensure you have your preferred choices of entertainment. Summer is a particularly busy time of the year for any event planning, so be sure to carefully consider your choices and book early!
  • Weddings: “The earlier the better,” is the mantra of choice for anything wedding-related. Weddings have the highest demand for entertainment and are planned well out in advance, so it is important to review your entertainment choices and book them as soon as you have secured the venue.

Remember, booking your entertainment early allows you the best selection as well as avoiding the stress of waiting until the last minute. Entertainment Unlimited’s professional, friendly staff welcomes the opportunity to answer your questions concerning availability, pricing and requirements for any entertainment in which you may have an interest!
