Sam’s musical career started at the young age of 9 years when his father bought an organ to play himself. He soon discovered that Sam was playing with a far greater ability and interest. Recognizing this natural talent Sam was placed into lessons at a young age.
By the time Sam had reached high school he was already a quite accomplished musician, playing professionally in bands as well as doing solo “gigs.” After graduating high school, Sam attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Receiving his degree in Performance, he then moved to Nashville where he began playing as a session musician, recording with some of Music City’s finest artists. He also worked as a staff writer with Otis Blackwell, known for penning such hits as “Don’t Be Cruel” and “All Shook Up.”
Over the past fifteen years Sam has played virtually every club and venue in and around the Pittsburgh area. For the past three years he has exclusively been the house pianist in the beautiful Mahogany Room at the luxurious Mountaineer Park and Gaming Resort.
Sam performs as an instrumentalist, or as a keyboardist with vocals and in an intimate trio setting. (sax, keys. drums)
