Vida Malcanas has been singing since anyone would pay attention to her. Born in Pittsburgh of immigrant parents from Lithuania, she always had a good ear for language and music.
Vida’s dad Vytas had a beautiful voice and played the piano by ear so needless to say it was passed down to her.

Once in high school she starred or liked to think she “starred” in every school production. She was professionally trained in voice for many years by opera singers and a member of the N.Y. Metropolitan Opera company. This style of music wasn’t for her but the vocal training was priceless.

Throughout college she toured in a top 40 band called “Prime Time” and gained necessary stage experience. She continued singing after college and recorded several albums with minor record labels in Florida. DJ’s all over Florida were spinning her club mix high energy dance music for young hipsters.

Life got in the way for a few years and Vida took a hiatus from music until moving back to her favorite city in the world believe it or not…Pittsburgh. She looooves this city and its people. She has hit the ground running by doing her own show at local venues in Pittsburgh and nearby casinos. She sings an amazing variety of music spanning a variety of decades and genres. She swears that is what has made her so popular. “I love to make my audience smile and I know I can do that by singing songs that everyone will enjoy. I don’t categorize myself anyway. I just sing from my heart and what I love.”

Vida is booking a year in advance these days and is eternally grateful to be making a living do what she is most passionate in life for.
